Blue Marsh Sailing Association’s for-fun race program gives members an opportunity to get their boats out to our home lake at Blue Marsh and participate in friendly competition.

The racing handicap is calculated based on your racing last year. If you have a new boat or will be racing for the first time, your handicap is based on the ratio of your boat’s Portsmouth number divided by the average Portsmouth number for those having participated previously times the average Blue Marsh handicap. Handicaps are recalculated after each race day. New racers will have their handicap calculated based on their performance after four races, with the slowest 25% performances eliminated.

Sail races occur on the last Saturday of each month.
